This is a great photo I would like to take this kind of photos in bus or tram but i'm always a bit affraid by the reaction that people can have. So i never try... for the moment.

I've got also a train shot in my gallery. it's pretty risky I'd say, I'm always scared they could start yelling at me, that I should stop taking fucking pictures

Very nice shot ! I agree the highlights are a bit blow n but i also agree with you saying it's better to loose some highlights on his face than to darken it too much.

Just one question : did you pre-meter / pre-focus the shot or you really put it to your eye and got the shot ?

did you get a reaction out of them when they heard the shutter. You must have been close if you were using a 28mm lens.

this is a very classical photo, I like it.

however, I feel that the man in the foreground has a facial tone that's too overexposed, maybe you could increase the shadows on his face and show more texture.

Great capture of a real life moment!! I hope the sound of ur camera didnt wake them up - i'm always too afraid to photograph people so close, I dont want them to see me!

A little too much contrast in some parts of the photo, but aside from that this picture is very appealing. Well done.

great potential on this one... can't help it, it needs some tweaking but that's just my opinion and my darkroom attitude.

cherrystones [2006-07-11 14:15:30 +0000 UTC]

yeah, like people said, the light was tricky, but still I like the expressions and closed eyes of the front two people. And the fact that they are both of separate rows, like little islands... Also, I like the composition - great shot!

Amazing photo! Reminds me of Rosa Parks, the first black person who refused to give her seat to a white man, in the sixties. Love it!

Man that lighting must have been a bitch. Still, not too bad for a scan. Maybe a split contrast print could fix some of the blow out? I don't know if you print yourself...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

claytes In reply to SuperSeniorPS1 [2006-07-10 20:00:13 +0000 UTC]

SuperSeniorPS1 In reply to claytes [2006-07-11 00:33:16 +0000 UTC]

Ah, too bad. It's really a rush, a feeling you can't duplicate with any other means. Try to work in a darkroom if you ever can.

i like the composition... though not sure about the contrast... but its a cool shot nonetheless!

This is beautiful.

The guy on the left fascinates me.

The people behind him make this worth-while as well. It just wouldn't be the same if he were alone.

Someone else mentioned liking how the two closest have their eyes closed, and I'd have to agree with that as well.

Very nice. .
