Nice work! I love the realism but the fantasy style/ setting as well..
You did great work on the details in the structure (used some special brushes/ textures?)
Perhaps im wrong, but i am not sure if you drew the Lightsource good. Since on the face it comes from the right, and on the clothing you have a sharp highlight on the left as well?
But i can be wrong about that.

thanks! i tried to implement a more embossed and bevelled look to the armor chainmail and sword so it looks kinda 3d rendered and im going for that final fantasy realism look so even the minutest details are mandatory hehe

How did you draw the hair? I'm used to just stroking with a brush as many times as I can handle, but I can never get lines as straight as what you have here.
And what resolution do you work on? How can you draw without it crashing your computer?

several custom brushes for the hair so a lot of strands rendered by only a single stroke, and i use minimal number of layers to minimize file size, this is a low res artwork since i started this out as just practice to test newly learned techniques, about 1500x2000

absolutely stunning piece. The details are amazing. I especially love the hair and armor. I wouldn't mind having that sword either. Beautiful and rich colors too.
