Just got bored, thought this was funny and thought I'd share. XD I always laugh when scifi shows hint at other shows, and the 200th episode of stargate SG-1 was painfully hillarious. On the subject of originality, read Melancholy Elephants perhaps, kind of an inside joke maybe? Meh.

Daniel: Hang on.
Martin: What?
Daniel: One, that's Star Trek and two, it's ridiculous.
Martin: What's wrong with it?
Samantha: "The singularity is about to explode?"
Martin: Yes.
Samantha: Everything about the statement is wrong.
Daniel: And how exactly is weapons at maximum going to help the situation?
Martin: The audience isn't going to know, but they love weapons at maximum.
Cameron: Never under estimate your audience. They're usually sensitive, intelligent people.
Teal'c: I do not understand why everything in this script must inevitably explode.

And as Grell from this particular stargate episode said: Science fiction is an existential metaphor that allows us to tell stories about a human condition. Isaac Asimov once said: "Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinded critics and philosophers of today, but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."
