Awesome! But why isn't Ash cooking? Misty has proven to be incapable of cooking, do you remember the episode when Brock was ill?

I wouldn't necessarily say she was incapable of cooking, though: It was implied that Misty was the one who cooked while they were stuck in Viridian Forest for 13 days (remember, Ash's first day was an unmitigated disaster, meaning he most certainly wouldn't have known how to cook), and besides, she WAS the one who cooked up the cure for Stun Spore-itisΒ when Ash, Tracey, and Jessie fell ill to it (the former two in a far more severe manner), something that had she been a bad cook, she would have more likely burnt it or otherwise somehow turn it into poison. Not to mention she'd need to be a good cook to travel by herself before meeting Ash.
Most likely, she was caught off-guard that time.
