Description
All individual images are 1080p, so you should be able to zoom in to see in better detail.Anyway, first thing's first: I fixed the mesh errors! No, let me amend that. I fixed the N-gons, and them specifically. But my fixes for them clearly seem to have created more problems than they solved, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe triangles are the way to go, instead. They do seem to curve better than quads do. So yeah, basically, the shading, especially in direct sunlight, is incredibly broken, and a lot of that is because my method of solving N-gons was to simply knife-cut the hull from the problem vertex to the other side (where that was lengthwise or heightwise). It definitely worked, it just creates some bizarre problems for smoothing, as well, especially since those loop cuts don't curve the way the rest of the hull does. I think I can fix it; if not I will resort to triangles, instead.
But anyway, that's the reason I decided to post this instead of bringing Olympic to the point I wanted her at. It took almost an hour and a half to sort out the N-gons, and the mesh is still being weird. Next render, though, I might actually just stack A-Deck, and consider the hull a problem for later. Haven't decided yet. If that is the route I take, I'll also probably add the decks in, and the deck equipment I currently have modelled. I'm getting sick of the hull.
Anyway, hopefully you like this one!
