Again, not changing the number. It gets too complicated too quickly.Anyway, the changes. So, basically I've added all the new models I've been working on to the ship's decks. That includes the lifeboats (still a major work in progress, and only the fourteen regulation and two cutters), their davits, an updated auxiliary anchor crane on the forecastle, and all eight cargo cranes (two on the forward well deck, two on the aft well deck, two on A-Deck, and two on the poop deck). While the cranes and lifeboats are very much works in progress, I was happy enough with their progress to add them to Titanic and see how they looked. And I have to say, I'm absolutely chuffed with the result! I think it finally adds a bit of life to the ship's otherwise sparse and empty decks.
So, up next. Well, I created a Google doc for myself to refer to, with all the items I'd like to have done before I animate her again (because I really enjoyed animating the last one and want to do it again, but I also want to complete the model. So, basically an ultimatum for myself). Up next is probably going to be the docking bridge and compass platform, and I may also add the cowl vents and intakes on either side of each funnel. I'd also like to add the boom crane behind the foremast, the anchors, and the cargo hatches. I do also have railings and support columns on the list, but they might not be in the very next render just yet.
Oh, and I also decided I'd like to at least texture the decks. I think the hull is still a bit too much for me to attempt at the moment, but if I UV unwrap her deck and add a wood texture to it, I really don't think it'll stand out too much. At least not going off the Minecraft render I did, with the decking (and grass, but that's not part of the ship) being the only texture I added.
So, anyway, lots to do! Hopefully you guys like this one, I know I'm very happy with it!
