The girl on the left looks like she's been turned to stone.....I really wanna know what's going on, but I respect the fact that you want to finish the story for it first. Please do soon. This is really incredible.

This is probably sudden after two years but I wanted to fill in the story since I got it finished. Basically the stone girl is Elra and the other girl is Avarice. Avarice is a type of shapeshifting spirit that holds her mother, Empusa, soul (her mother is the queen of her species and was going to be executed for treachery and trying to bring back demons) in her conscience to fulfill her mission. Elra is an heiress to a powerful spirit that takes the form of a chimera, selecting a certain person to be its host. The two meet as kids and form a close relationship into their teens, but Avarice is still conflicted with her mother verbally abusing her for who she is and even struggles to forge a pact with her to combine their souls, if not getting her way would possess Avarice. Empusa seeks to take Elra out since her power could be enough to destroy her if she reaches her full power.
Overtime, with the mix of Avarice’s inner conflict and her mother’s possessions, Avarice makes a pact which merged the two of them together into one. With this, Empusa takes control and ends up sealing Elra in stone in a huge battle. Avarice is devastated but is locked in this mixed mindset, continuing her mission with the idea she could bring Elra back this way.
The original drawing was the same story but reflected as them as kids when in real time it happened in their twenties, sort of as a distorted memory idea.
