Lost gasped in surprise at the brief jolt he felt from the odd carved piece under his weight. The grumbling of stone-against-stone had him slowly turning to see the shadowy mass behind them was now alight.
...and very aware of their presence.

Looks like these very lost children stumbled upon the only remaining resident of some, previously thought, abandoned ruins. StatCat rarely gets visitors, how nice of them to drop in! Please don't touch that though, StatCat needs that orb.
Wooo this was fun to paint, lots of glowing all around! I even tested out some new painting techniques for this, I think it all turned out pretty nicely.
This was created for AbsoluteDream 's contest, featuring their two characters Founder the Dekuscrub, and LostKid the skullkid meeting my living statue, StatCat .

Aww man, I just love the look of the glowing eyes and the orb. It highlights the characters so well!
The detail in this is just so awesome!! Especially in StatCat's face, the fur and claws on Lost's arms, and Founder's leaves. I also love the fact that Lost is looking at StatCat while Founder continues to be oblivious to the whole situation. 
I'm happy to hear you tried new painting techniques! I think it turned out beautifully. 
And that extra doodle just made my day as well! :'D

Ayy thank you! I thought doing a low-light illustration would be fun with all the glowing eyes and Stats orbs. The painting was especially fun to do once it came to getting all the little details glowing.
I happy to hear I captured them properly for you! I loved the designs of them when I first saw them, and reading up on their stories and personalities made me love them even more. I bet they get into a lot of trouble, mostly due to Founder being super curious about everything around him.
Stats definitely would love their company, even through they seem pretty threatening here haha. They're a giant goofy cat at heart.
