Tom surveyed the scene as soon as he entered, the body had not been removed and rather unusually the head was not severed. However, victim 11’s eyes were covered with a piece of thick black material.
He moved closer to the corpse, his plastic overalls sticking to him. He knelt beside the face, slowly removing the blindfold and placing it in an evidence bag for forensics. As he did this, he looked around studying who else was in the room, only looking back when he heard someone gasp. Her eyes had been gauged out.
Passing the sealed bag to an assistant, he called in a team to remove the body, while he looked around for clues. Close to the wall where the body had been slumped was an over turned chair and a piece of rope.
From across the room he heard a shriek, an eyeball rolled across the floor.
“Where did that come from?” Tom briskly asked.
“Her vaginal passage” muttered an embarrassed young man.
“Put her down”
“Yes Sir.”
She was rested on the ground, as Tom pulled another glove over his thin plastic one. He began to move his hand between her cold inner thighs, gently probing her for a second eyeball. He pulled it out, assuring that it touched nothing but the bag., then returned his hand to its previous position.
“There’s a large amount of dried fluids in here.” Tom noted, “I believe I may just have found the cause of death.”
He nodded as two officers pulled her legs apart, as several examinations were carried out making it clear that there had been severe bleeding, consistent with the possibility of bleeding to death.
He gestured away with his hand and the body was taken, exasperated he stood there staring at the wall.
A phone was hastily shoved in his face; he picked up the slender receiver.
“We believe we have another one, we think we’ve got number 12.”
