100 Character Concepts

Description
In effort to round out a concept art portfolio I've made a sheet of 100 character thumbnail concepts. Some are decent, some are lame; I'll pick a couple of my favorites and render them in more detail.I'd also like to do a fan favorite, so let me know your fav and if it's the most popular, it'll join mine in the polishing room! I see, I'm hoping to do this challenge, hopefully 10 times. It's going to take a while especially since I'm not very good at it, but I wanna be a professional artist so I want to get good at character design. Posing characters is my weakest point, especially dynamic poses. I have a lot of trouble positioning the legs in a balanced/active way. Do you have any tips? How long did this take you to make?
Oh, hahaha the quote in my signature? I made it up when my boyfriend kept telling me I need to learn to draw without a reference. Whenever he says that I just say the quote to myself. Hehehe. He's a musician instead of an artist so he doesn't know any better.

Yeah, legs can be a pain as well as posing in general. Especially for thumbnails like these try starting with a general sweeping line to indicate the direction of movement or posture. This would essentially be the arc of the spine. For dynamic poses it can help to think of what they may be doing or holding. If the character has a spear for instance, they could be doing all kinds of sweeping or stabbing moves. How can you convey their personality through posture? Another rule of thumb is that one leg is usually bent more than the other during action poses.
I worked on this on several afternoons after work. You can tell your boyfriend that even musicians use sheet music like artists use reference

that is rad. my favourites is row 4, the last one. shes wearing a dress and standing like shed own in a fight because shes agile. thats crazy cool. i wonder how she fights?

Have you tried 'alchemy' for character concepts? Your style here has a similar feel, although it's not a traditional painter. It's very hard to explain, but fun to play with.
Here's example of concepts done in alchemy, then used in a painter like photoshop.
