No, I was not aware of Martin though a couple of the pieces I think I've seen at some point. He was some great images, very epic. Thanks for mentioning him

I'm afraid they are no one really. They're essentially a visual tool for viewer's to relate to and judge scale against.

Seems that I worked on it over two afternoons after work. No, I recall using any photo references though I did have some art references for ideas on concept and execution.
