Description ...from us.

The Cynocephali exist in the mythology of Europe, India and China. The legends of all three of these cultures originally said that the Cynocephali resided somewhere in the wild lands west of Tibet and north of Persia (modern-day Iran). The European legends later began placing Cynocephali in all unexplored regions. In Europe, they were described as dog-headed people. In the legends from India and China, the Cynocephali were described as shapeshifters who could change from human to dog, but who always retained some animal features when they became human again.
In estonian mythology are described as savage, cannibalistic people who loot and kill humans without mercy.

...b-but...they are so...cute.

Used references for basically everything.
Made it in schools library.

Used references:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Pups head: Labrador puppy image in a book called ,,Dogs&Cats''
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Dogs head: Hound image in a book called ,,Dogs&Cats''
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Child and womens body: Image from a book that I believe was called ,,Cultures and nations''.
*sigh* The original puppy was cuter. *goes to paint the ''anatomical reference'' of Csin with diabolical smile*
Sorry for that. ^^ Thanks for pointing it out. I changed the description to include ''in estonian mythology''. The thing is that as far as I know our cynocephalis were based on cossack raiders, with possibly some influences from plague doctors and german werewolves. =/ I've heard of the friendly dog-people of India but as far as I know then in baltic folklore when you see a cynocephali then it's time to hide your belongings and run for the hills. ^^
It's cool I kinda over-reacted there I did read one thing by some european explorer that described them like that, but I noticed all those explorer dudes were a bunch of racist bastards that bent the truth of and demonized other people's culture and what not and it pissed me off, so I got irritated.
Thank you. He's adorable, isn't he?
And ofcourse they were racist. I believe it was only partially their fault as much as it was the fault of society at large. How long would an explorer survive if he went to the king or the pope and said ''Well, ofcourse those people I saw look different from us and they don't worship our god, but they are nonetheless a nice bunch and in no way worse than us.'' It would've been considered heresy, no? ^^ Plus there was the matter of church propaganda and general ignorance in that time. I know what you mean by demonizing other's cultures. I've read some of the translated works written by monks who arrived in my homeland in the 12th century. They claimed that the indigenous people worshipped dragons and practiced human sacrifice (alongside cannibalism, I presume) and basically said that the ones refusing to repent should be killed as to set an example to others. It's not something to get irritated about, just laugh at their delusions and hope that the future generations won't follow their footsteps. ^^
there's still a lot of church propaganda and ignorance today But yeah I need to stop taking everything to heart, I over-analyze everything and send myself into a fury (think of Catcher in the Rye )
I really like this drawing- you capture the tenderness in the puppies face that resembles the look of innocence in a toddler. It a great drawing.
Thank you for the comment. I'm not sure if cynocephalis are actually anthros. Most anthro dogs I've seen are lika a smooth mix of animal and human characteristics, cynocephalis are more like human/dog chimaeras.
I agree that it looks kind of freaky. ._. I seriously don't know what I would do, if I'd see a cynocephali in real life...I'd scream and run away, I suppose. But I think this picture is cute as well.
Nah, it's ok. I love comments.
Not trying to sound rude or anything, but a friendly suggestion - use capital letters, punctuation marks and correct grammar when you are writing on the Internet. It makes you appear older and wiser.
