I second *Cypselurus , it's a Red-tailed Hawk.Β  Note the belly band of dark brown feathers that isn't solid as on a light-morph Roughie, a darker marked head, white on the scapulars, and lack of white in the tail base.Β  This is a first-year Red-tail.Β  Aside from that, it's also VERY early to have Rough-legs even as far south as NY let alone MO!

Wow! This is so gorgeous! I love that keen sharp look he is giving you,The color is beautiful and sharp,right down to the yellowish greenΒ on his beak. I love how you blurred the background out yet have detailed focus on the bird and berrys The detail in his feathers is beautiful and you can see them overlapping which is a great view,This is just one amazing capture that you have,EXCELLENT !!!!! Thanks, John. I see the prayer you have as a tag, on the bottom of your comment. Many times have I used it, as a minister (when I was one) as I entered situations that I could not handle. It never failed me.

The prayer has never failed me either,I say it through out the day,I learned it watching a show on t.v. about the men of the cloth in Greece and how the say it through out the whole day,I really am enjoying your gallery!
