Description
This is one of a pair of curve-billed thrashers that currently grace my garden in Kansas City. I like the composition, due to the effect of shooting through cover, which happens more often than not in this lush, rainy summer.Related content

I Β how you made the bird the only thing focused. It really enhanced the shot. Nice Shot!

Thanks, Erin. I was hoping you would like it. Its always the same old birds, and I'm trying to come up with ways to make the shot more interesting. I knew I had the eye spot-on, but I wasn't sure how much would blur away in the rest of the photograph. An experiment that worked it was! Lucky.

You know what they say - beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love your photo.

Love how the cover, becomes a neutral green background, that makes the thrasher stand out. Great shot and blurring the cover into something that complements the bird and doesn't quite obstruct him.

Thanks, Lauren. Its always luck, of course, and the fastest shutter one can manage in the light.

He's a really good photographer of the female form, so he has an unfair advantage over a bird-man like me. But what a nice compliment, Steven. Thanks!!!
