Hi Everyone,
I'm announcing that I've invited friends and colleagues to post in my journal, to share information and insight with the Deviant Art community.
First Post - a request from Angela, who handles my art:
Hello Deviants!
A question for all of you: If you had a choice would you like to see and play an app or mobile game from one of Clive's classic books, such as Imajica or from an entirely new mythology? Many thanks for sharing your opinions.
Best, Angela

That would be cool! I would love to see something from the Razorline comic books! Especially Hyperkind, loved that book!

Exploring the world of Abarat and protecting the world from Pixler, Motley, and Carrion would be a fun game. It would also be fun to have John and his brothers as a part of the game.

i don't necessarily think it needs to be a storytelling game- something more free-form and exploratory might be fun, especially given the rich worlds in books like Thief of Always and Abarat... maybe something along the lines of a puzzle game, solve the puzzles to open up more of the world to explore... i think there's potential.

and i noticed i didn't quite answer the question... IMO, i'd love it to be from an entirely new mythology, or perhaps a blend... what can i say, i'm a sucker for new things to explore.

I don't really know how to answer Angela's question, because I don't even use a cell phone,
let alone apps or mobile games. I'm sure loads of other folks would love to see them.
Very cool of you to allow your friends and colleagues share your journal.
I can barely even imagine what goodies may be in store for us now!

I would love to have a sequel to Undying, that Patrick needs to exercise his magic a lil more.

I would love to see something from the Abarat, but that's just because I'm biased.

ohh Imagica or Weaveworld would be fun. I think it would be more gratifying for fans such as myself to immerse themselves in a world they are already familiar with. I think players who are familiar with your work, that are paying will then attract players who may not be familiar with you . Then you may want to think about a new mythos.

I would enjoy using, or playing an app based on one of the more classic books. I'm not completely sure which book would be more fitting though.... Oh the endless possibilities! Maybe something to do with a mix of the books, like a collection of sorts.

Hell-Oh Angela & Clive
We Would Love An App Of The Old Stuff Cause It's Great !
But If It's A New Story Created Specially For The App
People Is Gonna Go Crazy for It.
What I Mean Is Whatever New Nightmare You Have For Us
We Know It Will be Great
Cheers from Mexico !!!

I haven't to this day found a storytelling game for a phone that has in anyway impressed me. I think it's very hard to convey the richness of the source material in such a small medium.
For something like Angry Birds (colourful, simple, designed with a phone in mind from the ground up) it's great, but trying to imagine any of the complex characters from, say, the Thief of Always in a mobile phone format doesn't appeal to me very much at all, really.
