Ostri-Sized (Poem by Cornish Poet Clive Blake) Phoetry - Cornish Phoetry - Cornish Poetry - Poetry
People call me ugly,
And other hurtful names,
I'm often ostri-sized,
My feathers used for games.
They say the Ugly-Duckling
Grew up to be a swan,
And though I'm still but very young,
They ask me What went wrong?
I'm left here on my own-some;
And feel so sad and blue,
Well you would feel the same
If you were an ... emu.

Humbug the Cornish Emu:
The photograph is of the Cornish Emu called Humbug.
This emu was hatched against all the odds by the
photographer's schoolboy son Ben, in his bedroom,
on their family farm at Launceston in Cornwall, UK.
This Cornish Emu was allowed to run free on the
farm and used to pinch biscuits, by putting its head
through the farmhouse kitchen window! Humbug
can also be seen on a photograph called 'Emu
House'.
Many people might be surprised to hear Humbug is a Cornish Emu, thinking all Emus come from Australia¬¬ Humbug was bhatched from a Cornish egg on a Cornish farm from Cornish parents, so has earned his right to be classified as part of the Cornish branch of the Emu family!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------
This 'phoem' is entitled "Ostri-Sized” (Poem by Cornish Poet Clive Blake) Phoetry – Visual Poetry - Cornish Phoetry - Cornish Poetry - Poetry,
from the 'Phoetry Book', View Points and Points of View".
I describe Phoetry as a fusion of poetry and photography.
I came up with the Phoetry concept in the early 1990s.
Phoetry can also be described as Visual Poetry and loosely described as Concrete Poetry.
The poetry is by Cornish Poet, Clive Blake,
photography by Cornish Photographer, Chris Robbins MPAGB, AFIAP.

YES! Emu Badges would be the coolest! -- I'm up late working on homework, so I am very tired and prone to energetic outbursts.

if you put turkey eggs in a hen that is hatching, she won't realize that it's a distinct breed from her race! She will raise her offspring without regard their form!

Yes, I've never tried that ... but I have heard the same ...

Just to say that the hen won't ignore/attack the hatch even looking different! The Ugly-Duckling was thankfully a imaginary creation of some humans, imagine other animals acting like this? NopE.....

Yes indeed ... the hen is either a very tolerant bird or else a bird that is easily duped ...
I prefer to think of hens as tolerant ...
