ahh this is absolutely lovely and I love how well thought out it is!! the idea of it not snowing in corona makes sense, although it also could be considered a germanic influenced country since rapunzel is a german fairy tale, in which case it could make sense as well to believe there is more of a temperate climate I guess. (also I just really love snow so I love that thought too lol). In fact, reading about it now it could easily fit in the baltic sea above germany. not that it really matters, it's a fictional location~
but anyway your idea is well executed regardless. : D

I did consider the origin of the story but being that it really didn't follow it especially having names such as Eugene Fitzherbert - Eugene being Greek and Fitzherbert being Anglo-Norman, and the same Maximus which I believe is very commonly known as being Roman. I was just basing it on my cultural/anthropological and historic studies purely for fun rather than trying to be serious. Now the next movie Frozen has undeniable origins! And that is something I definitely wouldn't go about making up stuff ha ha However Rapunzel, published by the Grimm Brothers in 1800s was actually an adaptation of a 1600 fairytale that was French - not German. So you can even take it further than that ha ha!
Fun stuff, fun stuff. I've been wanting to do more Tangled fanart - you've suddenly re-inspired me. Hopefully life will slow down and give me some time for personal work!

(Btw, I love snow too, just got to see an exclusive sneak peak of Disney's Frozen at Siggraph s2013.siggraph.org/ in Anaheim so I am DEFINITELY going to have to squeeze in some fanart for the upcoming movie!)

Oh interesting- yeah you can basically take it however you want to! I just prefer to think of it like a Germanic or probably more Northern European country, I suppose. : D The production team was influenced by more than one place.

Yess I'm actually quite excited for Frozen (despite the rather cringe-worthy snowman lolol). The scenery looks absolutely gorgeous. *_* I just really love tundra type landscapes. So did you see something than a lot of people haven't? I've seen that one trailer that targets young children and only features the snowman and reindeer, but I've also seen a Japanese trailer which is so much better and has everyone in it. Sooner or later a trailer like that will be released here.

I guess thats exactly what really defines Tangled versus all of the other Princess movies which had definitive settings.
Yes, the conference allowed us a clip of the movie plus an overview of how they solved issues in animation and effects but also some never publicly released concept art (and small clips). Collectively it was a lot but the clip of the movie (which was like 5-10 mins), of course, was the most exciting part.
I found it strange that the Japanese trailer was released like that, I think that perhaps there was a mix up in the dates and someone gave them an early okay. That is highly unusual for Disney to do that ha ha
(And you're right, that snowman - Olaf - is... something

Ahh you're so lucky!! That sounds like it was a lot of fun. Yeah it is weird that Japan got more first even though it's an American film?? Hmm.
LOL he's just... a bit frightening. And annoying. But hopefully he'll be more likable in the movie, and if not, hopefully not all that prevalent.

From what I have seen, Olaf - the snowman - isn't as bad as he appears. And there is an interesting story behind him though he does have a dorky song. (btw, went to D23 Expo as well so now I know like... a lot ha ha)

Hah, I can understand that although I can promise you its not really a spoiler. Still, I am sure that watching it as it supposed to be watched - a continuous string of events - has the greatest impact ^^ I just am obsessed with film-making and animation, so sometimes I can't help it when they show how they make it.
