Description

Phea had seen the tan wyngling many times before; he always seemed to be sitting around, glaring at everyone with bitter hate. He seemed to have built a bit of a reputation at the nook, tormenting any wynglings unfortunate enough to cross his path. However, this wasn't the teasing, rude sort of bullying Phea sometimes faced with others; this was far, far worse. Wynglings who have gone face-to-face with the tan wyngling normally ended up with deep cuts and bruises, but these were not the only things the tan wyngling did. It seemed that the wounds he left on his victims were as deep on the inside as they were on the outside. This wyngling's bullying techniques seemed more calculated, more precise...more sadistic than the other wyngling bullies.

So Phea knew better than to come across the tan wyngling. However, it seemed she had no choice but to walk into his path that day.

She first saw the tan wyngling in the attic. He seemed to be interested in something that Phea couldn't see from her angle. From a distance, she would have thought it would be any other wyngling, but as she crept closer, she realised that it was him; his skin was tightly stretched over his thin body, and she could see his ribcage. Although his overall appearance seemed malnourished, she could see that he was standing with conviction, puffing his chest out as if to make himself look bigger. Phea felt ill with dread. Better not let him see me, she thought. She turned around and would have left silently if it hadn't been for the glimpse of red and white that caught in the side of her eye. As she peered closer to the scene, she stiffled a gasp of horror: the tan wyngling was slowly walking towards her cornered and completely defenceless puckoo Timmy.

Timmy! How did I forget him!? Phea's head whorled in panic. She could feel her breathing become shallow and quick, as if she had just run a race. No, this could not be happening. What do I do? Thought Phea to herself as the tan wyngling moved closer and closer to her beloved puckoo. She couldn't just leave him here. She just couldn't. She had to stop him.

Say something! She tried to will herself to speak, but it was as if she had lost the ability to do so. Her feet were glued to the floor, she could feel the sweat on the side of her face.

Suddenly, the tan wyngling quickly swept the puckoo off its feet. He seemed to be observing it. This sudden action sent Timmy into a panic and he started puck-puckoo-ing loudly.

The distressed cries of the puckoo seemed to snap Phea out of her state, and it gave her the strength to wrench the voice of protest out of her lungs.

"HEY!" The small room amplified her voice, making it seem louder than it actually was. The tan wyngling slowly turned his head frowning, looking almost bored. However, the corners of his mouth turned up slightly when he saw the trembling yellow wyngling.

"Well, if it isn't Miss Puckoo... " the tan wyngling sneered, baring his teeth. He held the now quiet Timmy under his left arm, obviously more interested in this new gro to antagonise. As he spoke he shot his blood-red eyes at Phea, causing her to shudder. There was something about his eyes that Phea before couldn't put her claw on. As he stared at her at that moment however, Phea realised: they seemed dead, cold...and full of hatred. Hatred for everything and everyone...including Phea.

"P-please leave him alone..." Phea said quietly, completely different from the tone she used to attract the tan wyngling's attention before. The tan wyngling's smug look only seemed to grow at hearing these words. I'm such an idiot! Phea thought angrily to herself; why did she speak like that?. She held her breath and braced for the storm of insults to hit her.

"Or what, you'll send an army of puckoos after me?" The tan wyngling asked mockingly, finding the whole situation rather amusing. He continued immediately, not stopping to see Phea's reaction. "How about an army of friends?" The wyngling stopped to mimic being in deep thought. "OH, of course, this puckoo seems to be your only friend, how pathetic." He grinned cruelly at Phea, who tried closing her eyes to block out all the harsh words. Ignore him, ignore him... Phea thought to herself, but it was no use. She could still see the tan wyngling's dead eyes in her mind; they seemed to be staring into her soul.

The tan wyngling, seeing Phea with her eyes shut in dismay, felt the pride swell in his chest at her defeat. He added in a matter of fact tone: "it would be a shame if something bad happened to it..."

Phea's eyes flew open in fear. The tan wyngling stood confidently, knowing he struck a nerve with the yellow wyngling. Phea could feel the ground turning under her, her vision became cloudy and her head was chaotic with thoughts. What was he planning to do with Timmy? Phea didn't want to know what the tan wyngling had in mind with her puckoo, but she knew that whatever it was, it definitely wasn't good at all. Through her blurred sight she could make out the shape of Timmy, who was beginning to squirm again. The realisation hit her like a wall: she was going to lose her puckoo again. Pictures of Rosie swam through her mind. "N-no" whispered Phea in dread. She had lost Rosie already, she was not going to lose Timmy. These words circled around her mind, and Phea felt the ground go still again. Her vision cleared back. From the pit of her stomach she cried: "NO!!!" With a leap of desperation she flung herself at the tan wyngling who's snide smile was quickly falling.

"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Phea cried, as she ran closer and closer. She wasn't thinking straight; she just needed to, had to get Timmy away from that tan wyngling. She needed to save her puckoo.

A lot of things happened at once. From the left side of her view, Phea could see a tan arm swinging at her way. The next thing she felt was a sharp burning sensation of the skin on the side of her face being sliced. Phea's head was snapped to her right. The tan wyngling's right arm was high above his head, fresh drops of blood on the end of his claws. Any trace of a sneer had left his face, replaced with a hostile look of anger.

"ENOUGH." the tan wyngling snarled...

Sorry this took  f o r e v e r  to make and type and everything, but it's here now. Yay >w<

I know wyngling claws aren't really supossed to draw blood, but I think since Phea ran at full speed meaning that there was more force in the blow, maybe we could make an exception...?

A BIG thanks to SarahJaneMatthee for lending me her character Judal for this story. I hope the story above got his character right and all...
