Description
I've gone to the birds, really. I don't think a day has gone by in the past three months without me drawing a parrot of some type (granted, most of these are really silly margin doodles). This is an albino/blue mutation scarlet macaw.About 4.5 hours in GIMP 2 with my mouse speed set way down low. I'm not completely content with the feathers, but it's pretty much impossible to get the veins in with a mouse unless I spend twenty minutes a feather. Maybe someday, but not tonight.
The Spanish Moss brush I used to create the background was created by redheadstock

It's such a crazy powerful program! I think I learn something new every single time I open it. This drawing I figured out what the blur/sharpen tool can do.
There's more birds coming probably; I really haven't been drawing much else for months.

They're the most gorgeous birds. After finding out about the mutation I just knew I had to draw it.
