Me trying to experiment with drawing mechanical parts.This was done entirely with a blue ballpoint pen.

(Just to clear things up -- I don't use stars this much, so whatever I have to say is in text.)
Well in general this is a very nice and detailed piece, I haven't seen many of those around -- so for that I'd like to congratulate you.
The technique you used also embraces the whole piece and gives it a metallic feel, but something feels a bit off -- at least in my eyes.
Lastly the aura surrounding it is quite strong and I believe that anyone who took a glimpse at it was taken back in time, during the Industrial Evolution.

I'm not sure how this of the "requested critique" works, so I'll write here: The metal effect with the ballpoint pen it's really very well done, good job! Also, the steampunk style is very interesting

The heavy Β shading is nice gives it a real meatless feel
