Description
So, there's a bit of a back story behind this one, in case you're interested. If not, skip to the bottom for the tl;dr version. My senior year of high school, I finally got back into reading on a regular basis. While reading The Invisible Man, I thought it would be fun to try and draw the main character. I soon discovered that drawing Griffin was ridiculously fun, trying to put as much expression as possible into what was essentially an empty suit of clothes.
Soon I was drawing him whenever I was bored, and he took over my math notes church bulletins. When I finished The Invisible Man, I started doodling characters from the next book I read (Good Omens), and it became a sort of tradition for me to doodle whatever I was reading that week on my church bulletins/math notes.
However, when I got to The Island of Doctor Moreau, I was suddenly struck with the idea that Moreau and Griffin had a lot in common, and thus the doodles quickly turned into several mini-comics featuring the two. As I read more, they were joined by other characters, and I thought that this might be a decent idea for an ongoing strip. I wrote several scripts, but never drew them, because I was working on other things.
Well, recently my friend told me about another crossover webcomic, (Girls Next Door, by Pika-la-Cynique) which reminded me of the dusty old Word file of scripts. So, since I had been looking for something fun and low-pressure to draw, I decided to take a crack at actually drawing out the old storyline. And here we are, with page one.
TL;DR version:
I like drawing The Invisible Man and Dr. Moreau, and reading someone else's crossover comic inspired me to finally draw up some old fancomic scripts I had about them.
About this page specifically:
Yes, I fail perspective forever. I know. This was supposed to be a quick, fun sketch, so I didn't mess with it much.

Oh boy! I'm really liking how you're using so many pencil marks to creat depth and shading in this! Although, I don't believe I'm exceptionaly fond of the view looking up in the fourth panel.
Those harsh lines make me think it's supposed to look like glass, or are you alluding to the floor boards beneath the rug? Because then I really like it! XD
Eee! Happy person am I!
(I would talk about the perpesective but I am not a happy person when confronted with it so I will simply smile, nod and tell you to keep up the good work!)

Thanks! Yeah, I went back and forth on the glass-lines, since obviously Griffin himself doesn't look like glass. Eh, probably should have left them out, in retrospect.
(Yes, well luckily the rest of the arc doesn't have such vicious angles in it, so we can both find reason to smile.)
