Description
You are nothing but a narrator,Catching every ink-smeared tear
In that little red book.
Your heart is a place of false promises
Caught within Filament bulbs.
[you never cared for fluorescence and
Polar bears are vicious things anyway]
Light was always your Mistress.
From the way my tears shattered light,
Casting shards over my heathen skin,
To the faint shine on his neck,
That should be on her lips.
And you would burn down every bridge I have built,
Just to make me see that light,
Even though we both know,
She's not going to see me.
Not with all the whispered screams
Nor self destructive leaps of "faith."
That you tempt me into,
With barefoot whispers
That tip-toe along my conscience.
You never hesitated in correcting me;
My heart is not a safe,
For all of my dog-eared happy endings,
That taint my lovers with an ugly reality..
It is merely a knot of muscles,
Pumping Blood, beating on and on,
Countless times, for someone,
Who would shred it into pieces,
Just to marvel at the colour.
In your eyes I'm just flickering flourescent tubes,
Ugly, broken, and not what you want.
[but just so you know, I was talking about us,
not the bears.]
