I read "The Hobbitt" this summer (for the first time) and I must say that my vision of Smaug is almost the same! Maybe the wings... I figure them bigger... But the whole thing is amazing

Okay, insecure fool that I am, I'm starting to feel a little better about this whole thing now. After revisiting your gallery and reading the above description, I'm glad to find out your are not, like, 14 years old and can draw this well. I think if that had been the case, I would have to repeatedly throw myself on a pickle or something equally distressing.
Beautiful linework combined with a robust sense of shade and atmosphere. I like how you darkened the wing in the foreground to create that nice contrast against the negative space, as well as dropping the lower abdomen into deep shadow. This works very well in the directing the viewers eye up into the composition.
Great implied design work with the scroll, also. I think, overall, Smaug never looked so good.
