hmm...This shot is very potent in meaning. It sort of reminds me of Donnie Darko (I suppose that can't be helped since I watched the film yesterday, though) I really love this shot. It's captured so much. Very surreal...

I definately like this. This is my interpretation: Since a lot of kids usually learn how to ride a bike when they're young, the bike represents childhood. And the rider left his/her childhood behind to venture onto adulthood. But the bike never goes away because your childhood memories always stay with you (unless you get alzheimer or something

Wanna know how I interpreted this?
The biker saw a strange house and went in all alone, leaving their bike behind, of course. And they never came back.
I didn't originally see the person on the path, but he is called the Liberator, and had tried to save the biker, but knew he arrived too late anyways.

amazing shot! It does have soooo much meaning behind it. It is so amazing to me how one shot like this has so much meaning. But I think it is in the way you took it and did everything that gives it the great meaning.

indeed alot of symbolism captured here.
i see this as an unexplored oppurtunity, something different than what you'd usually follow. the closed gate suggests something of difference, uncertainty, it's closed, though i can't make out if it's locked.
the bike assimilates how fast or slow you want to go, either way it'll be you who'll be moving along.
then you have a lone figure in the distance, waiting, just standing there. which seems like, through this unexplored oppurtunity is another oppurtunity, to meet someone or something, that will take you further down the path. or maybe right back around.
this is simply great, the dark tones makes it a bit challenging to decipher it's meaning. but truly this picture is better kept a mystery, it's a good way to get a person thinking!

I apologize if this sounds in any way like a backhanded compliment, but this is definately one of the best DD's I've seen lately, what with the somewhat weak DD's that have been chosen recently.
I'm not sure WHY I love the photo so much- its cold, gloomy, but it makes me think of adventures that are beyond the gate. I love the break in the clouds over the buildings, adds a nice highlight to it. Wonderful photo

you know...it looks like the person is someone who gives up easily. it is like he is trying to get over the fence but fails to and ends up fed up, leaves the bike there and just leaves. but then again it doesnt make quite much sense as the fence is pretty low and the sides are free which he can cross. maybe he only thinks one way...
