Born in El Nido, a island off the coat of the Philippines Hugo spent his early childhood as a tiny ambassador. His parents and siblings all pitching int o keep their tourism business alive. It was a fun and easy life; that brought Hugo long days of joy and fun. he loved the spotlight- and the more he could tell these foreigners the better. The picture of confidence he swiftly picked up English; switching between his native Spanish tongue and English on a whim. Content he did little to make waves or spread his wings. It wasn't until his eldest brother became labored with a heart condition that they were forced to move closer to the city.

Away from their little paradice the city seemed so big. A bigger population meant more demonic entities land it wasn't long before Hugo had his first brush with them. Thankfully, nothing violent came to him. After a few months the city life didn;t seam too bad; although it became increasingly prevalent that their little business wasn't going to be enough to support Hugo's brother. Looking for alternative methods for currency, Hugo tried to use his social prowess to drum up some business.

He succeeded, at a party he took found he could make some quick cash selling off a few baggies. He succeeded. A lot. Turns out drug dealing was a great way to make quick cash. So he did. In fact he made quite a name for himself. Too much of a name. By the time anyone came to stop him Hugo was making millions. If you hired him he sold it. It just turns out he was selling on someone else's turf. They took out Hugo's brothers first. A grim warning. Hugo was devastated. And infuriated. greed made him unwise and he only redoubled his efforts, using his money to buy info. Who his new enemy was.

The moment he had a chance, he took it. Riling up a gang of unsavory friends they attacked, with bats in hand to send a message. Being a novice he was easily overtaken and witnesses the horrifying butchering of his tiny gang. It wasn't over so swiftly however. he too was beaten and bloodied, and when he thought it was done tortured, and then brought to the shorelines. The same shores he used to show off to tourists.

and his head was held under water until he couldn't struggle anymore.

The brutality changed him; and in the moment he died he awakened. As a stained shard. His body swiftly undertook changes; and within days he had taken on a bigger, far scarier fform. With it he exacted his revenge. But before he could spread any more chaos; he was darted, sedated, and taken away.

As far as anyone back home knew; he had died that night on the beach.

But his story didn't end there. He was taken to Eighford, where he was painstakingly rehabilitated. After nearly twelve years of therapy Hugo was released; as a new man.

Using his death as an opportunity to start again he did just that; making the Academy his home.
