Lance had been in worse spots before, he could get around traps like these. He'd just been careless with the last lock was all. He just needed to use his Amulet of True Form and he'd be right back to... where was his amulet? Or his armor? That trap destroyed everything he'd owned, it hadn't even left his gold untouched! Well, trap or no this was still an archmage's tower, there had to be something lying around that he could use to get back on track.

Several months later...

Lance's new form had done little to fix his irritable personality. The archmage's stat enhancing gear had been a help in redeveloping his skills, though he'd had to reclass into a monk. He didn't have the strength to perform his old feats, but thankfully most throws and nerve strikes didn't need that much force behind them. It was pretty annoying that just about every time he tried to get into a high-end adventuring guild he got laughed at by all the bouncers, though. He really needed to find another Amulet of True Form...
