Belphegor.
Le Baal de Péor, Seigneur du Louvre, Thief, or spirit?
In the ancient times, these entity was a Baal, where the cult was done on the mount Peor.
Minor divinity of discoveries, and ingeniosity, intellectual and practical.
Back into the XVIs, a monk wrote a Hell Dictionnary, and he described him as the "Demon" ( yah, thanks to the transformations of the pagan deity into demons... bref) dedicated to France.
First the roman of Arthur Bernède (1927), then the movie adapted from, and in the 70 the serie, in 4 episodes.
The way I represente him, is directyl inspired by the animated serie I watched in the '90 ( [link] )

Recently, I came for the first time into the Louvre. It was wonderful ( I save you from all the affection I now gave to this museum. I want to live here. Nah.) And I saw these statue, and I thought immediately to my favourite 'History of Art character' (hahaha) - > [link]
