Description
A modified nerf gun painted like Rabbit from Steam Powered Giraffe! [link]"Rabbit" comes with a "brass" barrel" (to look like Rabbit's original Brass goggles) and is made out of copper that has swirly oxidation on it and is modified to shoot further and more accurately.
Testor and Tamyia enamel model paints were used. Spray paint was used as a base. Warning: these are fume-y highly flammable paints and I am highly experienced to use these paints.
The pride and joy of my nerf gun collection.

I do do commissions. As gramatically correct as that was, it sounds weird.
anywhoo. Yeah I love painting plastics.
You can always do your own:
Step 1: Buy nerf gun
Step 2: Buy testors paint, paint thinner, and decent brushes that you won't care if they disintegrate.
Step 3: lay out paper towels and newspaper everywhere. Double layer.
Step 4: sand nerf gun
Step 5: Paint nerf gun, wash brushes in between colours in the thinner (cover thinner in a glass jar to prevent evaporation).
Note: Testors is flammable fumic paint, so work in an open area where there are no fires. This paint also very permanent, wear close you don't care about, trust me I have spilled paint on me. I had to throw away my pants and wash my legs in paint thinner (not idealistic and probably bad for health but whatevs) and was stained on my legs for two weeks. Yerp.

Hehe... "do do". Β Yuk yuk yuk...
Ooooh thanks for the instructions!
Now to figure out if they even sell nurf guns where I live...
Well, I guess any gun-like toy would suffice
Oh and thanks for the llama btw Β

The paint works on any plastic and sometimes metal. It's essentially liquid spray paint in a jar. Kinda, not really.
You're welcome! Thank you for commenting on my pieces!

Looking outstanding. I am a fan of Testor myself on my pieces. With your oxidation, how did you apply the green patina? Curious as I typically dry brush using an old rag to fill in gaps and areas that aren't typically cleaned by gun owners. She's a real beauty. Care to check out my gallery and offer your thoughts? Keep up the good work!

Thanks!
Yeah I used my brothers, model paints for goggles and then, guns. Hence, Testors.
As for the oxidation, I painted the copper on first, and after that dried, I used a somewhat fluffy dry brush and dabbed on lime green. While still wet, I used a metallic electric blueish color on top. Sometimes I used my finger or paper towel (tied onto the end of a brush) to blend it more.
My other nerf gun ("brett"), used a larger brush and I blurred the colors more so the oxidation wasn't as vibrant.
Thanks! It's good to hear from someone else who does this!
