I love the use of color! It's very eye-catching, and the concept itself is unique. Nifty idea and picture!

CRIT BY: KAZUMASOJU
The colors of this piece are very pleasing to the eye although I do feel the piece doesn't visually state what you are verbally saying to me. I'm on point with what your goal is but then when I look for that in the image, its kind of lost in translation. Two main reasons. its hard to figure out what it is sticking out of the ink cartridge on the side and also its not clear that you used the hammer to break the ink cartridge - there is no sense of anger. My suggestion would be to actually have a person who is reeling back to make a swing at the cartridge and you can be taking the photo from the angle of the ink cartridge(placing the viewers perspective at a lower vantage point gives them a sense of weakness or inferiority) In the background could be uncompleted prints(making your failures into something positive - art)I don't mean to be harsh and I realize that this is a lot of work but if you are serious about it I do strongly suggest it
Hope I helped, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. I don't mind
Please remember that these are my opinions and you do not have to take my advice - its your decision as the artist in the end, have a wonderful day!!

RESPONSE:
Thank you for your crit, it is really helpful to learn as I am new to this game.
I do like that idea and will strongly consider making a new version of this piece when the time arrives, I have pre-warned by ink cartridges a painful death is coming. I may film it next time to show the actual death and its destruction. This piece was a bit unexpected, I was just bashing hell out of an ink catridge because it ran out on me, I just happened to have a camera near me.
Thank you once again for your crit, I have posted it on the pieces page.

Great Way Of Expressing The Frustrations So Many Of Us Have Felt When The Ink Runs Out At An Inopportune Moment

The colors are really beautiful, but the intensity of the murder scene seems lost in them. The aftermath doesn't seem as visceral.

Great concept - i'd love to see one with the hammer slamming down and ink splurting out

That was what I was aiming at. But there was so little ink left in the cartridge it failed hehe. Thanks.

This is a cool shot, but there are a couple of thing's that I'm not so keen on.
The shadow under the hammer seems a bit odd, and also the back of the hammer does too. Be careful when using Photoshop, you've gotta check the fine details more.
But otherwise, this is an awesome picture.

Yes that was my fault he he. I shot it on the patio outside my house on a small sheet of paper. The hammer was off the sheet, so I had to use the clone tool (but did it a bit crudely lol) the shadow was like that theres no enhancement on that other than inventing it for the end of the hammer.
Thanks for the comments

I love the colours and angle in this photograph but you may want to add more splatter of the ink

Yes ink cartridges are always deserving of a violent death.

Ok i think i've experience this before, you're supposed to get the ink refill kit right, and then everything should be hunky dory, until you cant get the cartridge open, BECAUSE ITS GLUED SHUT. This picture reminds me of my frustration, the colorful but awful mess, and i like that the implement of destruction is included in the background.

Thank you for your kind comments. I know, luckily I bought another one just incase I had this situation. But still it really sent me over the edge, thus it had to die. It took so much hammering to actually break the thing, so as you say the refill kits I have no idea how to use them. If you plan to do this, wear rubber gloves as the stuff is a bitch to get off your hands.
