I love the color scheme and the detail, especially his lips. His chin seems to just out a bit too far, however, it doesn't really detract from the overall quality of the work. Very wonderful, feeling portrayal.

That's what's so hard! When you're way impressed with something, you feel like putting one critique in makes the whole review sound negative, when I definitely felt positive about this piece.

Oh yeah. I like crits. I like hearing them, it always makes me take a look back at my art, make notes on what mistakes not to make again, etc. I can deal with them, and I don't think they make a comment negative, as long as you find something positive to say as well, even if its something small. That's how I critique others' works. :] I don't throw hissy fits like Sn...uh.... certain people on this site who can't take a crit.

I love the golden atmosphere; just that little light in the darkness. This might sound odd, but I like his eyelid (haha) the lines- like he has closed it tightly- really adds some tension to his expression which is otherwise peaceful. It reflects his emotion quite well.
This is the part of the book I choked up on the most! Heart just totally breaking for him T_T

Thanks! And it doesn't sound odd at all. I relish little things like that, I'm glad you take notice. The chapter made him seem so mature and calm about his death, almost accepting of it, but sometimes his fear would show through. I kept that in mind while doing his expression.

that scene's been stuck in my head since I read it, it's so deep and it really touched me. I tried to draw it, but I think it ended up quite crappy, so instead I set out to find somebody who could capture it much better. You've done that! it is so beautiful!

jup, me too...that's true...actually there's one scene I'd love to see, but haven't found yet, the one with Hagrid carrying Harry, thinking him dead...gave me the same feeling as the scene your pic illustrates, it was very deep I think.

Yeah, I was just looking at the chapter art to 36, with Hagrid carrying Harry. Omg, that was quite a moment. It just tore me up so bad when all his friends and teachers started screaming and crying. I would've just jumped out of Hagrid's arms and yelled "I'M ALIIIVEE, BITCHES!! *avada kedavra's every death eater in sight*" But....
