It was a regular night for Urbi, but there was a hint of something off. Though she was camped up for the night, like normal, the air had an odd scent of rain. Rain, being of Cascade, Urbi would celebrate with joy, however this rain almost had a sense of urgency. The lake she was resting in was filling fast and Urbi grew concerned, particularly as Silence began to swivel her large ears wildly, catching any stray sounds on the growing wind. Heaving herself out of the water, igniting the familiar tingle of change back into her land form, Urbi gathered her things to move them somewhere with more shelter.
A large weeping willow emerged in their sights and Urbi waited for any familiar sensations that came from what she thought was her heightened senses to make her aware of any foreboding circumstances. Her senses remained neutral so she nosed her way between the branches to be astounded by the tranquility that was inside. Despite the now pouring rain outside, underneath the tree's protection, the ground was bone dry. Urbi sent a look back to her little fox to let Silence know that they were safe.
They lay down to rest, Urbi using her possessions in front of her as a wall of protection. Since the cave and strange figure, Urbi's blessing powers had increased and she had started receiving future flashes within her dreams. Urbi knew this because her dreams were typically easy to manipulate, but these were too real, too wild to just be from her own mind's creation and now each time she dozed off she was suddenly awakened by flashes of treacherous mountains and a moonless night, each showing a slightly different place with narrow pathways and difficult climbs. After the 10th or so vision, Urbi was exhausted but knew she wouldn't sleep. Due to her restlessness Silence was already wide awake, concerned for her companion who seemed in pain. Decision made, Urbi left majority of her belongings in place and followed her gut and headed towards the mountains she dreamt of.
Many tales had been passed around the Vagabonds, dreams of something magical beyond the gigantic mountains that couldn't be passed even by the strongest Pegasi. But as she walked with drowsiness, she was led by visions and moonlight. Exhaustion took its toll on her landform, pushing her to pass out but still having the urgency to move forward. Each time she came back to consciousness she felt more cuts, deeper cuts covering her weary body and each time she found herself in a new place, generally higher where the clouds had become so thick that Urbi could no longer tell what time it was or even what day it was. All she knew was that her body screamed for rest but her mind would not allow it and so her feet dragged and moved her along. Days must have passed before she was so exhausted that her body just collapsed. Silence was then there, nuzzling her face. She had moss between her jaws, laden with water that Urbi gratefully drunk. Her body ached from being in her landform for so long when she was naturally in her waterform daily.
As her energy slowly seeped back into her body, Urbi lifted her heavy head finally taking in her surroundings. She was no longer on barren mountains, she was surrounded by lush greenery but there was a hint of danger to the air, something far more unnatural than Urbi had ever experienced and with such a battered body, Urbi knew she wasn't safe there. She attempted to stand, but her head flushed with images. An older mare with eyes of mistrust, confusion and wonder. She was forced to the ground, but at the same time, forced to slumber. The last vision before real rest, was a peaceful one. A smiling Goddess, her Goddess who held a smile that told Urbi everything was going to be alright. She was now where she meant to be. When she finally awoke with some clarity, the mare from her early vision was in front of her, along with her little fox who she was so delighted to see. The old mare's eyes in reality, begged to know the truth from a million questions. Urbi showed all of her own confusion back. However, a small smile graced her tired lips and she spoke one word to the glorious, warm mare, "Cascade."
Once Urbi had the strength to stand and then walk, the mare who told her, her name was Athaliah, took her back to the most incredible structure Urbi had ever seen with her eyes. The interior was even more grand with shelves lined with scrolls and books galore. The Peddler within her screamed of the value but Urbi was not one to take advantage of such kindness. Athaliah was the similarly the most incredible equine Urbi had ever met. Some may describe her as strange, but Urbi had met many equines much stranger than this mare. She never spoke in a direct timeline, something that moved a puzzle piece in place within Urbi. Athaliah allowed her to stay for several days where Urbi grew ever more intrigued for the going ons within the Temple of Time. Athaliah even asked her to witness some visions alongside her. Where she gave Urbi some minor clarity into what the Temple of Time was. Mostly it came down to the will of Cascade. On her fifth day of rest, Urbi felt changed. Never before had she wished to live in shelter and with other equines, but the desire to know more was strong and Urbi knew this place was where she would find all of her answers about her own blessing and how to use it. She sought out Athaliah and begged the mare to let her stay and work within the Temple of Time alongside the other workers and Cascade. To which the mare told her that she already knew the answer.
Her Goddess was giving true purpose to her blessing that she had received in the womb. It was time to start using it for good and truly learning what she was capable of, as Urbi was later told, as an Oracle.
