Description
And as the night rent open...Lightning split the dark clouds,
Red as blood, and redder still
As though his lifeblood was spilling out
To be soaked up by the unfeeling grass.
He lay, stretched out
Accepting his fate...
No will to fight...
Night, night
Everlasting Night
Trying to take him
Take him away.
Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night
Dylan Thomas
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Okay. Now. xD I was depressed...so this happened. I may do a second part. What do you guys think?

It really is a good poem. I like it quite a bit. And I'm really not a poem person, so

Hahaha, it looks like I'm talking to myself! XD
I found it a couple years ago on ask.com when I was searching for lupine icons that worked with the standard. This steely gray wolf fit the bill.

Thanks very much! I'm glad you think so, especially since i look back on this and cringe. I do still like the poem, though, so I'm glad the concept still comes across clear.

Wow, I love it! Last year we played the composition based off this poem in Wind Ensemble. It's really eerie but beautiful.

Oh, I would have liked to have heard that. I don't think we ever got to play anything based off of a poem. But I think that was mostly because my band teacher liked us to play HIS music xD Thank you!

~Your welcome!
Yay for bandos! Like I said, eerie but beautiful. I really enjoyed playing it. I can't find any videos of it on youtube or anything, only recitations of the poem
Oh, well... my music teacher usually picks pretty good music so... I'm not really complaining

Darn. I can imagine it, I suppose xD Somehow I missed ths performance, but there was a song based off of the war in Germany they played. World War...1 or 2, not sure now. But I remember part of the practice, and it was positively eerie and so sad...great stuff. They really should write more music like that, don't you think?
Lucky! I don't even get to take band this year V.V

I love this....great job...but..the read lightning seems out of place...it does not blend well with the rest of the picture...mostly because there is so much blue tones...and then there is this red streak in the pic
