Description Name: Eleitheia
Nickname: Ella
Breed: Pure Nordanner
Registrated: Pending
Gender: Mare
Age: 5 years
Height: 17.1hh
Color: Silver Black Peafowl
Markings: Blaze, four cornet bands
Genotype: Ee/aa/nZ/nPwl
Foal design: [link]
Personality: Extremely withdrawn and shy. When this girl first went up to auction, she almost came home to join the herd, but someone (that'd be me) waffled too long on her price and missed out. Luckily, the chance came once again to bring her home, and this time we succeeded. Due to her quiet nature, not much is known about her except that she is lonely. Gabriel seems to be the patron of the more lost horses, for she gravitates to him and is never seen without him. They have a special connection it seems. As with Promise, the little Nord herd has really gathered together to support her and under the watchful eye of Mystere, Ella is growing more comfortable. Nervous that she will be sold once again, she is hesitant to form attachments. However, should you try to separate her from Gabriel, you'll find many sets of hooves and teeth aimed in your direction. From what we've seen so far, if she were to leave the herd, Gabriel would go as well, and vice versa. If you take the time to get to know her you'll find she's a sweet mare and doesn't seem to have hardly a mean bone in her body unless she feels threatened, and even then she strives not to hurt anyone or anything. Soft-spoken and kind, her biggest struggle right now is trying to trust the other Nordanners in order to form more meaningful relationships in what will be her forever home.

Not entirely happy with this ref either but this lady at least deserved full body. I adore her. Erytheis was one of the first peafowls I really fell in love with...she and Daimhin, I mean. I kicked myself for weeks after missing her first sale, so when she was put up for auction yet again not long ago I was ecstatic. Thanks so much to Denver, who helped me with the purchase since I was working at the time. AND I got her for cheaper than she was originally sold for, which just solidifies the thought that it was just meant to be. Her peafowlyness should probably be bigger but I've seen her drawn like 20 different ways so I just went with that for now. Please note that dipped peafowl tails are not allowed-- she was accepted a long time ago, hence the tail. Lineage just copied over from previous references.

I eyeballed a ref and now I can't find the bugger.

I just happened to read the little paragraph at the end .. and entirely failed peafowl tail are allowed, as long as you have full plumage in the mane

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Cloudrunner64 In reply to kassousminou [2013-04-20 19:57:45 +0000 UTC]

There has to be at least one plume in the tail. You can however choose to have no peafowl at all in the tail.

kassousminou In reply to Cloudrunner64 [2013-04-20 20:01:59 +0000 UTC]

So it means that you need to either have nothing in the tail or plumage ? I taught we could still have the failed tail if we had full plumage in the mane ... sorry xD

Cloudrunner64 In reply to kassousminou [2013-04-20 20:04:33 +0000 UTC]

Yus. More detail here: [link]

You can have a completely normal tail, or an otherwise failed tail with one plume. There just always has to be at least one in the the tail.

kassousminou In reply to Cloudrunner64 [2013-04-20 20:09:40 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, already read it multiple time ... and the way I understand it, you can have full failed tail if you have a plumage in the mane .. you just can't do a "dipped" tail ... but you are the admin, not me

Cloudrunner64 In reply to kassousminou [2013-04-20 20:11:41 +0000 UTC]

This is the paragraph I'm referring to:

"A peafowl's plumage may never be "fully failed." This means that while peafowls can have colorful stripes in their mane and tail instead of full plumes, there must always be at least one fully developed plume. Peafowl does not cause manes and tails that appear simply "dipped" in color. It is however possible for a peafowl to not have any plumage on its tail."

If that helps. ^^

yeah, I know

"This means that while peafowls can have colorful stripes in their mane and tail instead of full plumes, there must always be at least one fully developed plume. Peafowl does not cause manes and tails that appear simply "dipped" in color."

What confuses me is that the part in bold doesn't precise that the fully developed plume need to be in the tail ... so I could have a peafowl with a fully peafowled mane with a completely failed tail, as long as my tail is not "dipped" ... I don't know if you understand .. xD

Cloudrunner64 In reply to kassousminou [2013-04-20 20:24:34 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I think I see what you're saying. I took it to mean that there must always be one fully developed plume in the mane AND tail if there's any failing going on, mane OR tail. So if you have a failed tail, you have to have one plume, regardless of what the mane is doing. If you fail the mane, there must be one plume there as well, regardless of how many plumes the tail has.

If that makes sense.

ooooh ! Ok ! Now I see the point ! xD Thanks for clarifying with me !

Cloudrunner64 In reply to kassousminou [2013-04-21 04:04:14 +0000 UTC]

Except for the fact where you ARE right! Denver let me know that as long as there is a plume SOMEWHERE then you're ok to do failed peafowl. So I was the one reading it wrong, not you. ^^ Sorry for all the confusion!
