Jewel stared at her reflection. Sulked. Stamped a hoof. She turned her head to look at her growing belly again. How could this have happened? Well. She knew how it happened. But that didn't mean she had to like it. "The one day I skip eating that nasty plant," she muttered to herself. She remembered it vividly, too. As if the memory mocked her on purpose. She had hovered over the contraceptive weed, debating her options. Surely, skipping it just once wouldn't hurt...and it tasted so disgusting! Much like how she would imagine human gym socks would taste like. After getting moldy.

Oh, but how that had bit her in the butt! She loved Steadfast, but she wasn't ready to have a child. Was she? Surely not. It was too soon to lose her figure! And she worked hard on that! Not to mention that birthing was sweaty and no fun at all. She'd seen that done. In fact, she had never really wanted a child of her own.

But with Steadfast as his father...perhaps it would be okay. Or it would turn out horrible, as so many things do. Would he be strong like his father? Vain (though she still wouldn't admit that out loud) like her? Would he keep himself clean? Or would he roll in the mud puddles that dotted the landscape in the spring, when he would be born? Somehow, she knew at least that she was carrying a boy.

A girl would have been much nicer.
"Or much harder to manage." The rumbling, amused voice came from her mate, who was watching her with no small measure of amusement. His vain mate, his Jewel...and now, his son. He couldn't wait to meet the little fellow. Hopefully Jewel would get over the loss of her figure long enough to appreciate the life growing inside of her.

She huffed at him. He had changed her, this white stallion. For the better, she thought. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad, having a child. Before she met Steadfast, she would have birthed the thing and run for her life. Now, she would stand by her mate and face the terrifying prospect of raising a foal.

Oh, goodie.

I'm such a slowpoke. Sorry this took me so long, Kweh! Seriously. I just couldn't pass up this pony. Darn me. But it's the last one for a while, I swear! I simply cannot adopt any more. I haven't even drawn this guy's daddy. D:

Anyway. This is Balinor, son of Jewel and Steadfast. Jewel, if you remember, is that blue circle-pony of mine. I've written so much of their story in my head and shared none of it with you guys. Sowwy. It'll all get out eventually. His markings are pretty complicated, but I loooove the color of his coat, so that makes up for it.
His name isn't the most original thing ever, but in case you haven't noticed, these guys actually have semi-normal names. Instead of crazy ones. Because. I decided to change it up a little.

Okay, it's 3am and I want some sleep now. So, enjoy the glow-pony.
(Also, I know the reflections aren't exactly correct. They aren't supposed to be!)
