Description I've been wanting to make a working Fusion Sword for my BJD doll and I have only done a basic one for the MSD size (1/4 scale) but I wanted to do a SD size (1/3) and have all pieces taken apart and assembled like a real thing.
It took a while to figure this one out and I came across an image and it made me realize, I did have a good sample on my shelf! My Cloud Strife 13" figure has this awesome sample of the Fusion sword, both being assembled and unassembled, I went ahead and took it out of the box and scanned the pieces and drew the outline... boy, that took me a while and froze my laptop up halfway through. The Fusion Core was a bit difficult because it is in open blade mode and I wanted to figure out what the core look like without the blades cover and I had to do some creativity here. I don't really know what it look like, there is no reference anywhere. All I know the core does open for battle mode and close for assembled mode. I am still trying to figure out the mechanic of the arc swords (all of the blades names here are what I call them as I see it, they're not actual names...) and the hollow blade as well. I believe the hardest part will be how it all fit together and hold together without having to put screws in on the outside like those miniature 1/6 Fusion Sword set (which I also have in my collection but not the best model to base from).
My next step is to scale it and print out the outlines, it will be a pattern for me to use to cut out the shapes of styrene plastic. I am looking at this to be a month or so long project but at last, I can get around to making one for my Cloud Sorano BJD doll. The materials, I am guessing will be involving several sheets of styrene plastics in different thickness, those tiny nuts and bolts found at the hobby stores for trains and remote cars, perhaps small gears, model paints, milliput clay and maybe few other things which I will figure out as I go along on this project. It's going to be fun, its like puzzles that I have to solve. ^_^

update Jan. 2017: forgot to post this here... I managed to finish the fusion sword and it took me a solid month to create one for my doll but I am happy with the result. yashodoa.deviantart.com/art/BJ…
