The scenery is absolutely gorgeous in the fall, especially in the sandy/beach area.

That's what I've heard. I'd also like to be there and take a picture of a moonbow or at least see one.

Thank you. I'm about 2hrs away actually. It's really nifty. The rocks are humongous, and if you like hiking there are trails. I've heard it's better after it's rained a little.

Cool, it's a great place for nature photos. Some of my most favored pieces are from that area. I wanted to go back there and explore the area more, but I'm moving out of state for college soon.

Yeah, it's whole states away, which is honestly kind of scary but I am going to be totally immersed in learning the process of filming and editing. So I'm pretty excited.

I'm want to be a director, and screenwriter. I love photography but it's more of fun hobbie for me. As long as I'm on set I'll be happy.

I don't often fave nature-photos, as they usually look alike, but this was just such a beautiful setting

Thank you!
Generally nature photos do tend to look alike...
I take other kinds of photos but nature's my comfort zone.

Thanks.
I don't think Cumberland river is ever really clear... well not after the Falls anyway, before it though it's clear.

I have a shot in my stock account. I may have it in my lamin account too I cant remember lol.. But its a shot of Huka falls. The water is very clear

That's cool. I googled Cumberland Falls and all the pictures show the water as green or greyish I don't know why though. I thought it was because of the falls stiring up dirt but there are waterfall pictures like yours that are clear. Then again Kentucky rivers are not the cleanest waters... that's going to bug me.. Oh well. I have a guestion that may or may not be stupid: What's a lamin account?

Tepara In reply to CloudTheory [2007-10-02 04:24:18 +0000 UTC]
Ohh I was like what are they on about whats a "lamin account" lmao then I looked at my own comment and realised it I meant to say stock account I have no idea how I got lamin out of stock lol..
Sorry about that hehehe..
Umm I think you will find that in NZ most of our water is clear. The only time it isn't really is when its been raining etc.
But like you get Aussie, and what ( not all but most) they call clean rivers are what I call so dirty I wouldn't even let my dog drink the water, yet they swim in it ewwwwwwww lol..
I guess its just that I'm so used to clean clear water?? ( I'm a country girl hehe )
I got a DD for my stock photo called "River" yay me lol..

CloudTheory In reply to Tepara [2007-10-02 04:43:51 +0000 UTC]
lol, that happens. Maybe you were thinking about lamas and admins?
Kentucky rivers are not's clean at all, Boonesboro is really dark and there are signs up saying not to get in the river. It used to be a lot better, I played in the water as a kid but it's gone down hill since then. The Kentucky River's also a green color. Red River Gorge is however red, and can be really pretty.
The creeks where I live (also a country girl ) are really clear though. You can just sit there and catch crawdads if you want. But I wouldn't drink out of them either.
My dogs don't have any rivers to get into but they'll go down the the pond and come back with grey clay from the pond's river bed all over them... eww.
What's NZ? New Zealand? Either way, New Zealand's a beautiful place, I would love to go there one day. There and Japan, and Ireland, England... yeah okay anyways I'll go check out your stock photos now before this turns into a dissertation.

yeppers NZ = New Zealand
The water I drink here. he rain water.
But at my parents farm ( just up the road) the drinking water is river water, boar water and spring water.. The pump pumps it to the tanks for the house and all over the farm for the animals .. The rivers on the farm we swim in and are all very drinkable

That's so cool. I usually drink bottled water or self filtered water. Even if the water looks clear here, its really not a good idea.

It is awesome. It's part of the Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, which is surrounded by Daniel Boone National Forest. I really want to go back with some friends and walk some of the trails in the area, and I rarely have the urge to go hiking.
