Wonderful Eastern Rosella.
Yep, they are real parrots native to South-Eastern Australia and Tasmania.
They have been "introduced" to Tasmainia with established feral colonies in areas on both north and south islands.
It's very difficult to tell the the boys from the girls by looking at them. Easterns are not sexually dimorphic, though the males are slightly smaller;
the plumage is identical - the only difference being the males may be slightly brighter.

This is definitely not fake! This gorgeous bird species is called an Eastern rosella - they're very often held in captivity but naturally occur Australia [link]
