Hi everyone, Kaleta gave me permission to make this entry so here I am.
Anyway, for anyone who cares Anastar of the CxA forums has taken some time to write up a brilliant essay countering the TLS claims that "Cloti is canon".
It's a hefty read but it's thorough and to the point and speaks the truth.
Please give it a read and pass it around to whomever you can, even if they're not CloudxAerith fan. C:

I am sincerely sorry. Β Β I had good intentions, honest! I submitted Cloti fanart, because we all know Cloud belongs to Aerith and not to Tifa. We all know Cloti is fan made, and it is false. That Cloud harbors feelings for Aerith and her only. It is in a way a tribute to Cerith/Cleris.Β I've seen some of your cool blogs about Aerith and Cloud the reasons behind the pairing. Big fan. We need to keep spreading awareness that Cloti is NOT canon.
Square has provided official evidence that supports both pairings. This is a love triangle. Neither pairing is canon.
It is up to each player to decide who Cloud loves. That is the official canon answer by SE.

A great article on this debate. Also serves to show that something simple can be taken out of context. People do this all of the time to prove their point, and all they do is come off as idiots.
I always thought the Aerith romance was more canon than Tifa because official sources always has Cloud being close to Aerith. But what I loved about FFVII was that it didn't have to be the case. Heck Cloud can end up on a date with Barret or Yuffie if you play it right.

I've always figured that. If cloti was canon they wouldn't of included the Aeris and Cloud dating scene nor would ff7 be optional in choosing who gets higher affection. Also I honestly think Aeris and Cloud was the intended couple until Tifa was added in last minute (due to her dying).
