Zip contains: ico, icns and png files!
To use in Windows: Right click on the folder you want to change. Then in the drop down click properties. Choose the customize tab and click change icon. Then hit the browse button to search your computer for the icon you want to use.
For Mac Books: "Right click on the folder you want to switch the icon and drop the new image on the little folder on the left top. It could be that the Mac will accept the changes first if you have restarted it. best used format for that is icns. I think png. will work too but i'm not sure." Thanks to Japple-Ack for this as I do not own a mac. ^_^;;;

For some reason... this just is not working for me. Followed the instructions perfectly, yet the icon refuses to change.

You may have to reset your computer. I know mine don't like to refresh sometimes. Also are you using Windows or Mac?

That is very strange and when I looked it up I can't find anything that would be causing them not to change. Unless you have a program running that overrides what you are trying to do to the icons?

Found the issue: it doesn't work with the "classic" theme, only the shiny glass theme... x-x

10/10 wish i could replace every folder with these but I don't have 35 years :c

Man right? I spent like 20 minutes just changing my most used folders and I found a way to change a bulk of folders using the registry editor but even then you can only change the open and closed folders that don't contain stuff. Any nested folders or folders with content will stay the same. =C
Oh god and if it was for Mac I wouldn't even know where to start. xP
