Millions of sharks die every year due to this barbaric practice. Fishermen cut the fin off of the shark, and then toss the rest of the the still-alive animal back into the sea to drown. All for someone's soup. This practice wastes 95 to 99% of the shark and is endangering these beautiful creatures.If you want help, I suggest contacting your senator (if you are in the states) and asking for them to support The Shark Conservation Act of 2009. This bill will help manage the finning of sharks and help the US set a better example to the rest of the world on shark protection laws. Go sharks!!!

I do know that some shark species are pretty dangerous but most of them are as threatening as a dog, means harmless if not provoked heavily. I saw the videos of shark`s getting finned, it was horrible to watch.
Do you know the one with the blue shark? The poor fellow got all of his/her fins sliced off....terrible.
I only hope we will change our path and start seeing sharks as what they are: Potentially dangerous but important animals.

Everytime, I mishear people say sharks are the monsters, they only kill a handful of people compared to the sharks people kill.
