This is no nifty! Oh I love this so much, the two reactions are just spot on and just blow me away. The Pokemon in the back...wow, the true rage that is beheld in a battle can be seen just simply by the intensity of their eyes. But the flames about them also add on the true battle scene going down. Red's reaction to it all: cocky, cute and carefree. Oh what a master he is and you make him out to be. Kudose!

...I still remember playing the original Pokemon Silver... I had beaten the Elite Four, the Champion... All 16 gyms... I get to this new area I had never been to before, Mt. Silver... a lot of strong pokemon, but nothing I couldn't handle... I get to the top of the mountain... and there he was, just standing there......

Listening to the red version of "Eh? Ah, Sou" make this look more epic to me

EASILLY the best battle of the series, just because it was pitting the new generation 'hero' against the older one, which had been built up to be the best of the best.
Going through the Gold/Silver/Crystal playthrough your character finds referances to the guy from the first games and how he was supposidly, the best trainer of them all, and the player (who had done what he did in the first games first-hand) gets a little bit of pride about your character becoming this well recognised across the Pokeworld for their exploits.
So once you've done it all in Johto, gotten the eight badges, beaten the elite four, gone to Kanto and got THOSE eight badges, you ask yourself 'What now?', you find out about Mount Silver and it's reputation, having gone through what you have, you think 'no biggie' but once you've reached the top of the mountain, you're fighting the greatest trainer ever, your previous self.
Then, once the battle's over, and you stand victorious, you feel something, not just satisfaction from beating some 'hidden final boss', but satisfaction from beating, and in a way, surpassing, your former self and your previous 'limitations'.
