Description This is my tribute to a game I played through recently, Sigma Star Saga. Unfortunately, far too many people never gave this very brilliant game a chance. It's a hybrid RPG/Adventure-Game/Space Shooter; no, seriously. The run around and exploration parts are like an adventure game where finding new tools unlock new areas, and earlier areas that were barred off; along the way you collect experience points, watch lengthy RPG style cutscenes, and engage in randomly occuring battles; however, those randomly occuring battles - as well as some key plot points - actually take the form of space shooter levels. The story both makes sense of all this in a logical way, but also happens to be very good as well. This was supposed to be a shot of Recker and Psyme talking in the crate that Zelly put them in on their way to Starbase 3, just before Psyme kisses Recker while he's in the middle of feeling sorry for himself about the fate of Sigma Squadron, but I think I got a little carried away with adding details to the crate to the point where it really doesn't look like a crate at all anymore.

This is the most complicated picture I've ever done, and it took way too long to make, but I am definitely happy with the final results. I find it funny that in Krill society the guys are basically given walking tank suits, but the girls apparently get the 'battle bikini' (but it gets +2 communication with the fleet, it seems). Anyways, don't ever expect anything quite this complicated from me again for a good long while.

Not so bad. Too bad there's no sequels, Wiki's, or groups about this game.

Indeed, it's practically a crime that this game arrived and left without virtually anyone everΒ knowing it existed to begin with. Also, thanks for taking the time to comment.

Hey its Feferi!!!!

No I'm just kidding, its Psyme. Feferi was based on her though.

Who's Feferi?

By the way, TTA is awesome (pity he never made the final batch of episodes).

If you liked TTA, you'll love Homestuck. Its one of the biggest growing fandoms right now, a animated digital scott pilgrim-style webcomic with some of the most interesting characters ever.

Feferi, one of the 16 main characters, looks almost identical to Psyme, except the goggles.

I tried reading Homestuck recently, it didn't exactly go as you might have hoped. I died of utter boredom trying to read the comic around the time they began discussing the magazine review. Actually it would be more appropriate to say I had been bored straight from the start, that's just when I finally called it quits after two hours of waiting for something to finally happen.

Dude.

I was dying of glitchy jpg images by episode 6 of TTA, but unless you forget, it got a thousand times better at what it did.

Homestuck gets a ten thousand times better and then some. THAT'S WHY I SUGGESTED IT in comparison to TTA!

Continue where you left off. And dude, don't try to read either the gamefaqs first comment or the magazine review. Barely anyone reads that.

You just haven't got to the acceleration of plot and quality yet . Just trust me on this okay? Believe it or not, there is a reason why there are literally 'thousands' of homestuck cosplayers nationwide. And the reason is not mass insanity.

Nice, I'm actually playing this at the moment, using the Free Aim Cannon + Triple Shot, makes all those random ones go away faster than you can say Krill, however when meeting thoose mini bosses that fire back, it's not to usefull anymore.

Clovis15 In reply to deeremf [2011-02-12 03:46:14 +0000 UTC]

The bouncing bullets, once you find them, are just murder on the bosses. They have a tendency to get stuck inside their body where they deal ridiculously massive damage, ending the fights far faster than I think WayForward ever intended. Still, it's a great game despite the fact it has a few rough edges (like randomly spawned summons that put you in a fat ass ship far bigger than the narrow cave you're in).

Haha! Great to know someone else has found the game. It's not always easy being one of the only people to know about it. Man I wish there could be a sequel.

That's often the fate of many of the games by WayForward, sadly.

Someday, if I actually get to become a game designer and have some sort of repute that I'll get to reinvent some of the obscure games I played before.

Hhm... Well.. there's a game called Scaler and one called Kya: Dark Lineage for the PS2. Mischief Makers would be a great one too.

Ah, but the character actually belongs to Enix (or, these days, Square-Enix). It was sort of like how Nintendo doesn't own Professor Layton at all, but is the company that releases them in the US. However, not being a Nintendo character hasn't stopped some other people from appearing in Brawl (actually, Snake was my favorite character to play in Brawl).

Battle Network Megaman would be a perfect choice, or even Starforce since those two were for Nintendo consoles only.... and phones in some cases.

I got the game. T'was really something special. This pic is really good, too. Recker looks a bit off, though.

Clovis15 In reply to RogueMankey [2010-07-31 03:30:59 +0000 UTC]

My only complaint I had with the game is that the encounter rate could sometimes drive you to tears, it was the primary reason I gave up my efforts to replay the game through a second time. As for Recker, it does sort of seem that way.

Oh yeah, RANDOM BATTLES.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Clovis15 In reply to RogueMankey [2010-08-03 03:39:41 +0000 UTC]

The encounter rate was so high that it was one of the reasons that almost all critics universally panned the game, something that did not help it at all in sales.

RogueMankey In reply to Clovis15 [2010-08-03 04:19:01 +0000 UTC]

Only reason I purchased it was because of the girls. I foolishly thought Recker would score with them both by the game's end.

BOY WAS I WRONG. %D (Still, the perfect ending was nice.)

From a dialogue perspective, I actually liked the Psyme Only Ending better than the Perfect Ending.

I like to think there was some Hot Coffee action going on in this scene. Not that i expect anyone to find it, really.

On a serious note, I think their torsos look too short. It's pretty much what you've been doing, but it's only more of a problem in a sitting pose like this for some reason.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Clovis15 In reply to PsyHunter29 [2010-06-20 20:21:31 +0000 UTC]

I'll admit, it's something I've been aware of for a while now (that the torsos in my drawings need to be longer). Unfortunately, I don't really draw all that often. These days I've been heavily caught up in working on a variety of serial projects I've gotten myself involved in, more so than drawing stand alone pictures. That said, it's probably been long enough that I should take another stab at drawing again soon.

Three-Way Spread plus Options! XD

Clovis15 In reply to Elmind [2009-10-14 05:56:20 +0000 UTC]

That would be more ridiculously over powered than some of the already ridiculously over powered combinations you can form as is!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Elmind In reply to Clovis15 [2009-10-14 14:18:30 +0000 UTC]

Talking about overpowered, use triple spread + bouncing shot + shield or damage enemies upon Xth impact. That's one of the most powerfull combos I heard of. But my favorite is Triple Spread + Triple Laser + EXP on 30th impact

Man, you could take out bosses in seconds with the bounce if the bullet got stuck in them.

Clovis15 In reply to Eri-Blossom [2009-06-24 20:36:14 +0000 UTC]

It was indeed an awesome game. My favorite part was that unlike other so-called scifi themed rpgs, it felt far more like something science-fictiony rather than just something with technology thrown in (you used guns and spaceships, rather than swords and magic spells like some so called scifi RPGs). Anyways, I'm glad you enjoyed the picture.
