The year is 2433 C.E. Humanity has expanded beyond the confines of our solar system and colonized the stars. However old habits die hard. A series of colonies, fed up with the inadequacy of the old Earth government, banded together to declare independence. This desire for independence soon turned to one for dominion, and war was declared. For years the Earth Colonial Systems (ECS) and the Terran Separatists fought bitterly for control of human space. This fighting ceased only when both sides made unexpected contact with two species of intelligent aliens. The Aetarans, and their much older allies the Urani. The two races made it know to us that they too were waging a war against an even greater threat that would soon encroach on human space. A race of machines known as the Litch, bent on wiping out all forms of organic life. Armistice was declare, and the four factions banded together in their mutual desire to live. Through this alliance, the Litch was defeated. In the decades following, peace has largely reigned throughout the galaxy. However tension is brewing again between the ECS and the Terran Separatists, and there is talk of a power struggle within the Aetaran Royal Court. Everyone also knows the Litch was defeated, but were they really destroyed? If war does break out soon, we will need people willing to fight it. Among them will be the ones that gave humanity its edge in both the Terran Wars and the Litch Wars. Humans trained to pilot biologically engineered monsters known as Rapax Units. Mindless synthetic beast built solely for heavy combat in any environment. My father was considered one of the best that ever lived, so I have one hell of a legacy to live up to. My name is Sophia Razor, and I’m an ESC Rapax Pilot.
