Description One of my favorite comics of my youth was Marvel's "Power Pack". Back in my day, dear youngsters, the Power Pack were not the anime looking tykes they are today, teaming up with every Marvel Superhero under the sun (short of Batroc the Leaper). They used to have their own adventures, written and drawn by Mary Louise and Walter Simonson (if memory serves me correctly).

The concept of a group of siblings fighting numerous evils in the Marvel Universe has always struck me as extra chunky cool. It's a huge and scary place and the prospects for adventure are endless.

If I could write and draw Power Pack (a dream job for me), I'd do the comic much like "Opey the Warhead". There would be a lot of humor, but a lot of darker, more serious things, too. While the world to a kid is seen through much simpler eyes than that of an adult, all of the same evils and dangers of the world still exist no matter how a child views them. How these four kids---Gee, Energizer, Mass Master, and Lightspeed---would fight or triumph over those evils in a universe made for bigger, tougher heroes, well, that would be something I'd love to see.

Just before they went "Anime" they had a few shorts Juli found out that she could teleport and Katie was shaping up to skip a few grades. The parents knew and one reason they had moved to Washington.

Really? I haven't been keeping up with much of their modern adventures. I'm too old a fogey.

Thanks! Often, artists will draw kids looking like minaturized adults, while they actually have different shapes and proportions, depending on the age.

Oh man I think I still have some of the issues from back when, and I remember the ads with Spider-Man about kidnapping or something...

I think there was a special Power Pack issue with Spiderman about child abuse. I think it was the first comic Marvel published without the Comic Codes label, because of the sensitive subject matter.

Even back in the day they would team-up with other heroes. Spider-man and wolverine come to mind and the morlocks too, I think. Wait, batroc's a hero? I thought he was a bad-guy for hire. I you wrote and drew Power Pack, I'd buy it.

You're right, I remember those team-ups. My main beef, though, is that all of the Power Pack comics now seem to be team-ups.

Batroc's not a hero, but I just wanted to use a pathetic superpowered character from the Marvel universe as a character. I guess I should have said "Frogman" or "The Great Lake Avengers".

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I've always thought about putting together a submission to Marvel featuring the Power Pack but I'm not good enough to draw there.

Even if they did not team up with Spidey (mandate from above, I think) or the X-Men (Louise's old office), team-ups with X-Factor and Thor would be too hard to pass up, I'd believe.
