Yumi TRYING to keep the lookout while Aelita does her 'one with lyoko' thing, but socializing instead <3strange i don't watch cl as much anymore but the characters are just really DRAWABLE, ya feel me???
I distantly remember that Aelita and Yumi had their moments together but I still wish these gals interacted more and had a friendship like Ulrich and Odd's like seriously I'm starving for canon close female friendships here!!! like sometimes when i think about it the most emphasized relationships in the show were the obvious romantic pairs (jerlita, ulumi and the occasional oddlita) and then the guy friendships (jeremie and ulrich, ulrich and odd) but not really aelita and yumi, or odd and yumi, or aelita and ulrich which shouldn't bother me BUT IT DOES AGHHHHHH
edit: resubmitted with shading this time!!! also I actually watched some episodes again and I latch onto any yumlita moment I can find.

Huh, I hadn't really noticed Jeremiah connecting with anyone other than Aelita
ulrich and Aelita had quite a few subtly sweet moments though

lol not something I noticed as a kid but after watching some quality tv with quality female relationships I now bemoan the lost potential of this friendship *cries

You're welcome! And yes, that's a really lost potential. There was at least a hint of it in Code Lyoko Evolution (I think), but certainly not enough.

You make a fair Point, but i do belive the reason they didn't make Aelita and Yumi Bff's was simply because Aelita and Jeremie was each others best friends, and that's one of the reasons i shipped them so much.
It's just something really sweet about how a boy and a girl can have a massive crush on each other and still be the best of friends, but i agree that they could have put in a couple of more scenes with Aelita and Yumi hanging out every now and then, just talking and bonding.

Yumi and Aelita didn't have to be BFFs but friendly banter between those two are kind of hard to come by, while open up any episode and odds are they'll be a couple of scenes on the boys talking about classes/lyokostats/etc. It's possible for a character to have multiple friendships alongside of romance without clogging up the story line (teen titans did that pretty well), so it should have been possible for a show that nearly clocked 100 episodes to have built up strong tangible relationships between Aelita and every individual lyoko warrior, not just Jeremie.
At this point I'm probably nitpicking but after watching so many great shows with great female relationships I come back to watch CL and i'm like ???
