If you have a second, please read the following, this pony means a lot to me, and I'm hoping she can mean a lot to others too...

Today I shoved my CV at practically anything that moved. In today's society it's a heartbreaking endeavour, just to be told either to apply on online, where your CV, personality and personal experience may not even be counted, or just told flat out no, cause nobody's hiring. It's the way for everyone nowadays in the economy, and I'm not really one to talk, I'm lucky, studying a masters after scraping through my bachelors by the skin of my teeth, when my friends, who passed with distinctions and work hard and helped me hang on to that skin can't get a job. Those of them that do can't keep them for more than six months. Such is the way of industries such as animation and many others at the moment. Everything is in flux.

My dad doesn't want me to get a job, he wants me to focus on my studies, but I feel....wrong, if I'm not at least helping to support myself, even if its forced to be only for a couple of hours a week. So today I printed up a bunch of different CV's for different things, grooming at a riding yard, retail, and some specialist ones for design and dog walking/sitting and set on my merry way.

It wasn't that bad really, but it got me to thinking about how lucky I am and how in flux everything is for everyone, and then this lady cantered into being from the recesses of my mind while I was at a traffic light down my road on the way home.

I think My Little Pony Friendship is Magic means a lot of different things to different people, for me it's the return of a kid's show with good solid morals, that I delight in sharing with my 10 year old sister, because the behaviour she learns from things like the Disney Channel is frankly appalling. I mean all those live action tween shows, have you seen how they act? How they speak to their parents? I don't get it.

It's also the rebirth of my childhood, as an only child growing up My Little Pony was everything to me, I had many, can remember scoring good grades to get more and saving my pocket money for the dream castle play set, which I still have to this day. My parent's both worked and I tired to hard with the other kids, still do! But in the end I could always just unpack my ponies and get lost in their world in dream valley for a few hours.

I digress, as I said MLP FiM means different things to different people, but I believe the effect that it has on those of us that enjoy it, whether you be watching, drawing, fandoming, or just plain hanging around, just takes away those cares and worries that we have to wade through every day for the short time we sit and enjoy it.

That feeling is what made me make Princess Hope. Princess Cadence spread magic that encouraged love, and Princess Hope spreads magic that ignites hope in those that feel all hope is lost. She radiates light and her magic comes in warm shining balls of sunlight that float into the chests of those that need it and sooth their worries and fill them with a sense of 'EVERYTHING WILL GET BETTER, JUST KEEP GOING'.

So Princess Hope isn't a character for me, I would love for her to be a character for everyone, no credit necessary, just enjoy her, if you feel any semblance of what I've said here, be it through your parents, friends, or you're experiencing it yourself, take Hope for yourself, drawing her ignited that light for me deep down in my chest, maybe she can for you.

If your life's pretty good at the moment then why not spread her to others anyway? It would be wonderful to see her shining her light around with anyone who wants/ needs it.
