I like the contrast between the flat blacks and the white or orange background. It's a nice effect and the complexity draws the eye well.

How gorgeous! That design is insane... I'm so glad you had the patience to carry through with this! I love this style and I'm glad you kept the color simple. ^^

too much would have been way too much
all the patterns would have crashed had the color been too crazy
and i agree - i went totally insane with the patterns on this one - it took months and was more fun than a barrel of monkeys
i really appreciate your very kind comments
it's a delight to know others are enjoying the work

For some reason this pic reminds me a bit of Picasso's Guernica....and even though I'm not a Picasso fan, I do mean that as a compliment!

You and Picasso? Well, the comparison was my pleasure!
As for NY...yep, it will be there for another time. I'd like to think that I could go again...we shall see!
It's strange but Ground Zero didn't upset me at all, as I was expecting it to do....(unlike when the event unfolded live on my telly screen) it's just...well, there's nothing there anymore. I suppose that says more than anything.

funny - i spent many years in NJ - and we all hated the twin towers as they were being built - just two huge UGLY boxes on the NYC skyline perhaps we would have thought twice about our sour attitudes had we known the fate of those buildings and all the victims entombed there now

Although it looks like it took you many dozens of hours to make this because it is so detailed, the magic of this piece is such that it looks like you waved your hand and it appeared out of your palm from a moment of thought. Translation: I like this very much.

gosh, you are kind to send such warm comments i like this piece very much as well - and it did take many hours to complete but somehow the balance of NOT TOO MUCH detail managed to win
it was touch and go there for awhile
