I don't think it's crappy at all. I really like how you intrigated you subject matter with your mood. I know I"m not the only one who gets tired of seeing the same style again and again on this site, so this is very refreshing.

Polly want a cracker! )
It's nice. What mediums did you use?
It looks like watercolours, or the other type of paints that I keep forgetting the name of.

::applauds:: Then might I say it's quite impressive.
I've heard acrylics are difficult to work with.

Hm...
I never thought watercolours can be considered too hard.
I mean... All you need to make the colours more vivid is to wait for them to dry, and that isn't hard, it's just time-consuming.
And oils... Yes. The hardest.

Well... If you're impatient, and to not let them turn into muddy water, just drip a drop of water on the watercolour paint, and then rub the brush longer.
Or use Tempera instead, with close to no moisture. Effects of that are quite nice.
I, on the other hand, have always preferred pencils and pens to paints as my medium... ::shrugs:: I don't know why, but I feel them more comfortable, and tend to get better results.

Hm...
I myself like Photoshop to edit pictures (although I use a programme from the 1990's called "Ulead Image Creator"), but for creating art out of scratch, I have the tendency to prefer "Twisted Brush" - It's more intuitive to me.
Otherwise... Yes. Nothing beats PS.
