Obviously this is a commission so its fixed, but for the sake of saying it - can we see the rest of his body, to make it obvious its a lift?

Its not a 100% lift presumably, but the motion lines make it look like hes being lifted up, i.e. his legs aren't really taking the load?

Correct! I just wasn't sure if a proper lift, for a lift and carry fan, needed to have the character fully off the ground; just an odd assumption on my part, I guess.

Yeah you usually do but you can't hack around certain practicalities. As long as its clear the legs aren't actually taking any load (e.g. awkward pose) it would work, even though the balance would technically be off (more than her weight held out directly infront...).
