Haru
A quiet lioness with a dark sense of morality. She finds pleasure in the darker parts of life, but she is quite friendly. Growing up in a pride where her father was a tyrant who enjoyed making "his lionesses" suffer. Every cub born in her pride had the same blood as her father, making it hard to befriend any of them due to the mothers despising the father - thus despising their own cubs. Haru's mother was the only lioness in the pride who was a constant mate to the father. A twin brother was born with her, however he went mad in a pride where lionesses were treated so poorly by the father. He was inevitably locked away from the pride by his own mother- fearing he would become his father's legacy. This only proved her fears true when he broke free from his cave and began tormenting his own sisters. Haru, luckily, managed to flee with her own sons before her twin broke free.

Rumena
This lioness started trespassing in the swamp as a cub. She would sneak around playing with some of the more secretive cubs (cubs who found it fun to keep secrets from the grown lions and lionesses) and even found herself growing fond of one of the young lions she ran with. After some time, the young lion persuaded her to meet the pride and join them. She agreed, but she wasn't sure they'd have her. Upon seeing her fondness of the young lion, his mother accepted the cub without a second thought. This cub would grow to bring a stronger generation into their pride.

Grima
This poor boy was an outcast in his own pride after his adolescence, being suspicious of his father for treason on his own pride. No one wanted to believe him, and ignored his attempts to reveal his father's crimes. Eventually he was run out of the pride after a fight with his father. His mother and sisters mourned him- his father telling them he was torn to shreds by outsiders. His father mourned him as well, but he knew the truth. He didn't want his pride to find out about the deal he made with the neighboring prides, but he didn't want to kill his own son to keep the secret- he knew the only way to keep this hidden was for his son to disappear. After beating his son to a bloody mess, he allowed him to run away from the pride. His father didn't want to lose his boy, but the pride was already being picked off, and before he had time to get his mate and daughters away, the war had begun.
